Start with the use case
A tablet for reading, video and browsing is a different product from one for drawing, note-taking or laptop replacement. The use case decides the size, the stylus and the keyboard.
Wi-Fi or cellular
A cellular tablet costs more upfront and needs a data plan. If you mostly use it at home or on known Wi-Fi, the cellular premium may not be worth it.
Storage and accessories
Drawings, video and offline media consume storage. A keyboard, stylus and case can add a significant share to the tablet price, so compare the complete setup.
Screen and size
A larger screen is easier for split-screen work but heavier to hold. Check the brightness, refresh rate and whether the display is laminated.
Software support
Check the promised update window and whether the apps you need are available for the tablet’s operating system.
