A per-person package is not the total
Hotel packages usually quote a per-person catering price with a minimum guest count or a minimum spend. Ask whether the venue fee, setup, service charge and taxes are included.
If the minimum spend is higher than your guest count would generate, the difference is still payable.
Season and day of week change the quote
Weekend evenings and peak season cost more than a weekday lunch. Ask for the same package on two dates to see the difference before choosing the date.
Vendors outside the package
Photography, videography, florals, entertainment, hair and make-up, the dress and transport may sit outside the hotel contract. Get separate written quotes and add them to the total.
Guest count is the biggest lever
Every additional guest adds catering, seating, favours and sometimes staff. Reducing the list is usually more effective than negotiating a small discount on the per-person rate.
Ask for the total contract value
Request a written breakdown of package, minimum spend, taxes, service charge, extras and cancellation terms. Compare the total, not the headline per-person price.
